People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos provides just that with our “GO-GO” program.
“Get One” 8-week literature/discussion program for your staff and “Give One” to sponsor a People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos “Classic Model” program at one of our partner site locations (a sampling of sites included here). Your company logo will appear on all materials provided to this site, as well as on our website and social media.

People & Stories / Gente y Cuentos allows participants to discover new awareness of themselves, those they work with, and the world, through literature.
Approximately 15-20 staff members from various departments gather around a table or sit in a circle for eight, 90-minute sessions to hear a trained coordinator read a literary short story selected specifically for the group, followed by a guided discussion, in English or in Spanish.
We utilize these strategies:
“Classic Model”
Participants draw upon their experiences and acquired knowledge to discuss the stories, discovering that their life experience has, in fact, prepared them to understand and examine complex literary art.
“Crossing Borders”
Through reading and moderated discussion, participants from varying cultural or work backgrounds, discover common threads between individuals, ultimately bridging ethnic, racial or socio-economic gaps within the organization.
“Writing our Stories”
In ten, 120-minute sessions, participants respond to a writing prompt at the end of each read aloud/discussion session, including at least two sessions led by a published author. Following the conclusion of this series, an anthology of the group’s work is created and then distributed to each participant.
