Our Story
People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos has been transforming lives through literature, conversation, and community for more than five decades.
At the heart of every program is our trademarked methodology: carefully selected literature is read aloud, followed by guided discussion. Because stories are shared aloud, everyone can participate—regardless of reading ability, educational background, or life experience.
Today our programs serve older adults, new immigrants, people in recovery, incarcerated individuals and those returning to the community, veterans, people with disabilities, families, and many others who may have limited access to the humanities. Every week, stories spark reflection, strengthen relationships, and build more connected communities.
