INFORMATION FOR LIBRARIANS

 

Application Form  --  Applications now being accepted for 2005 series.  (Applications closed for 2004 series.)

Application Process --  $800 Mini Grant per series

Who Can Apply:

  • Library Administrators

  • Librarians

Who Can Run the Program:

  • Librarians can coordinate the program in their libraries - or - identify scholars to run the program in their libraries

Benefits to Libraries -- Why Should Libraries/Librarians Apply:

  • Attract new audiences -- outreach to new grass-roots, non-traditional, and Latino audiences

  • Offer pre-packaged, award-winning program in Spanish and/or English to new library audiences

  • Invite new audiences to discover the life-transforming power of literature

  • Receive a mini grant for $800 per series

  • Receive partial travel reimbursement to attend training workshop

Project Requirements
Once grant is awarded, participants are required to:

  • Attend one training workshop (15 hours) at either of the following sites:

    • Boston, MA, in conjunction with ALA midwinter meeting, January 2005 or

    • Seattle, WA, February 4-5, 2005.

  • Implement two eight-week literature series for 12 - 20 people either in your library or in collaboration with a community outreach program.
