Participant Comments

Survey Question 3:
Is there a memorable moment that you would like to share?

  • No single moment, but I particularly enjoyed the “self-disclosure” group participants made as a result of the follow up discussions.  Self disclosing creates a bonding effect, which allows people to relax and trust.

  • When the lady from the newspaper came and sat in session, it made me feel good to see I was apart [sic] of something that’s on it’s [sic] way to making an [sic] positive impact on people’s lives.

  • Working with evarone [sic].

  • That I’ll never forget working with these nice people, I enjoyed it very very much.

  • Just being welcome is saying mouthfull [sic].

  • [The discussion of “Marriage is a Private Affair relating to the issue of arranged marriages and love marriages.]  Take responsibility for the choice of partner.  If you don’t take responsibility for your action how will you make a difference.

  • The most memorable moment for me was when the young black man stated he fills [sic] uncomefulble [sic] around white people.

  • When one of my fellow students remarked that he wasn’t used to dealing with Caucassians [sic].  It surprised and blaffled [sic] me that in this day and age people still  have these insecurities and fears.

  • All has been memorable, I’ve never been in a group like this and I think it’s great.  I’m going to share something like this when I get with my grandchildren.  Where we all come to gether [sic] and read a story, then share what we think about it.
